Cubbies

CubbiesLogo_rgb.jpg

Cubbies is for children ages 4-5 years old.

Handbook: There are 2 Cubbie handbooks that are used in alternate years. Cubbies will complete an Apple Acres workbook each year before beginning the Honeycomb or Appleseed Handbook. Cubbies will complete Bear Hug sections and verses each week. Parents should read the story and complete the activities for each “Bear Hug” with their Cubbie at home during the week before Club. Parents will sign and date each completed Bear Hug. Cubbies will memorize and recite their verses with the Scripture reference to the leaders. A schedule will be provided so the parents will know which Bear Hug to complete for the week.

Awards: Cubbies receive stickers in their book as soon as they complete their section, their review verse, and their parent has signed under the apple tree. When they complete the Rank sections (the first two in their book), they receive their rank patch for their uniform. At the end of each unit, they receive a Red or Green Apple Emblem for their vest. Cubbies who complete their books will receive a book ribbon, which corresponds with their book. Extra credit activities and awards are available upon request.

Attendance: Cubbies can also earn Club attendance patches. A Club attendance patch is awarded if your Cubbie does not miss more than two weeks of club in a semester.

AWANA Theme Nights: Once a month we have a AWANA Theme Night. Please check the calendar for specific themes.

Fees: The Garden Fellowship is sponsoring all children who have made The Garden their home church and are committing to the AWANA season.

Cubbies sponsored materials include: Cubbies vest, Cubbies Handbook, patches and awards. Garden Kids bags are available to purchase ($10).

*Please note: Parents will be responsible for replacement items upon request.

Sparks

Sparks Club is for children in kindergarten through second grade.

sparks-logo-color.jpg

The Sparks Club builds on the material taught in Cubbies. Our prayer is that through the continual hearing of the Gospel and by digging deeper into God’s Word, these AWANA kids will give their life to Christ and accept Jesus as their personal Savior.

The Sparks program is firmly grounded in Scripture. The three handbooks feature:

  • Basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible

  • An increased emphasis on Scripture memory.

  • In three years, a child will learn and review 68 verses, many of which cover salvation and key Christian doctrine.

  • Clear and consistent presentation of the gospel message.

Fun learning = results. Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for churched and un-churched kids alike. Club meetings are divided into three segments:

  • Bible teaching, worship, award presentations and the gospel message

  • Small group interaction and completion of Bible-based lessons

  • Age-appropriate games on the AWANA game circle

*Please note: Close-toed shoes must be worn to participate in AWANA Games.

Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the three handbooks.

Handbooks: Sparks will receive a Flight 3:16 handbook on their first club night. Once completed, the child will receive their HangGlider handbook and be eligible to receive their vest. The following books are WingRunner, SkyStormer and Hanglider.

Requirements for Passing Sections:

  • At home, mom or dad reads the biography or lesson before each verse or activity with their Clubber and helps them learn their verse by memory.

  • When a lesson and verse is complete, Mom or Dad initials next to each verse so the leader knows what the clubber has memorized.

  • At Club, the Sparks recite each verse and reference (ex. John 3:16) to their leader. One (1) help may be given for each section. A “help” is any sort of assistance and should not include more than 3 or 4 words. It is intended for one (1) Handbook to be completed each year.

  • A Leader’s signature certifies that the section has been passed.

AWANA Store: Kids may use their AWANA Bucks at the AWANA store held in December and May.

Throughout game time, AWANA kids have the opportunity to earn AWANA Bucks.

What other ways can kids earn AWANA Dollars?

  • Reciting Bible Verses

  • Participating in Theme Night - See Calendar here.

  • Bring a new friend to AWANA

  • Good sportsmanship

  • Upon completion of the handbook

Awards: Sparks receive a badge corresponding to the book they are in and then receive a set of wings for which jewels will be earned. Clubbers who complete their books for the year will receive a special award at the Year End Awards Night.

AWANA Theme Nights: AWANA Theme Nights will occur monthly. Please check the calendar for specific themes.

Fees: The Garden Fellowship is sponsoring all children who have made The Garden their home church and are committing to the AWANA season.

Sparks sponsored materials include: Sparky vest, Sparky handbook, patches, jewels and awards. Extra Credit books ($10) and Garden Kids bags are available for purchase upon request ($10).

Truth & Training (T&T)

TT_logo_large.png

Truth and Training Club is for 3rd through 5th grade boys and girls.

The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third- through fifth-grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow — today.

Exciting features to get kids excited about God’s Word – T&T is equipped with a variety of dynamic tools to accomplish this mission:

  • Each year the kids walk through a specified Bible study to help them learn and engage in the grace of God.

  • During the 2023-2024 AWANA year, we will be going through a Bible-centered curriculum that helps kids build a firm foundation for their faith, hide God’s Word in their heart and apply the truths of Scripture to their daily lives.

Evangelism and discipleship go hand in hand in our third- through fifth-grade program. By the time a child has completed T&T, he will have:

  • Learned and reviewed approximately 310 verses

  • Studied dozens of passages from the Old and New Testament

  • Regularly heard and read the gospel message

  • Discovered the Bible’s response to questions like “How does God want me to live my life?” and memorized verses to back up these answers

  • Completed missions projects that help him see the world through God’s eyes.

Handbooks: T&T Kids will receive a Flight 3:16 handbook on their first club night. Once completed, the child will receive their “T & T” handbook and be eligible to receive their pendant upon completion.

Each T&T handbook contains 30 weeks of content. Use handbooks in any order with T&T kids of every age. Handbooks coordinate with small group and large group leader guides. Complete Start Zone before working in handbooks.

Requirements for Passing Sections:

At home the child will learn the Bible verses in each section and complete the required activity with mom or dad. Please note this is a great teaching moment! Explain what the Bible verse means and how it applies to each of your lives.

  • Parent’s signature or initials indicates that the work has been completed.

  • At AWANA, your child recites the weekly memory verse to his/her leader. One help may be given for each verse.

  • Leader’s signature certifies that the section has been passed.

AWANA Store: Kids may use their AWANA Bucks at the AWANA store held in December and May.

What are points for? Throughout game time, AWANA kids have the opportunity to earn AWANA Bucks.

What other ways can kids earn AWANA Dollars?

  • Reciting Bible Verses

  • Participating in Theme Night - See Calendar here.

  • Bring a new friend to AWANA

  • Good sportsmanship

AWANA Games: Each night, AWANA kids are required to be in appropriate footwear — tennis shoes are the best!

AWANA Theme Nights: AWANA Theme Nights will take place monthly. Please check the calendar for specific themes.

Awards: Children in T&T earn a reward emblem for every four (4) sections completed. Emblems will be attached to the child’s pendant upon completion. Silver and gold award emblems are given for completing those corresponding sections.

Fees: The Garden Fellowship is sponsoring all children who have made The Garden their home church and are committing to the AWANA season.
